“We didn’t expect to win; we knew the competition would be tough. It’s just good that we were able to pull it off.”
“This year has been a really interesting environment, especially with the new debaters this year to help mentor. I think debate provides a really good opportunity to expand your basic knowledge in collaboration with a team. It also lets you sharpen your own communication skills and become a more effective communicator. Rhetoric is everything. You can get people to believe whatever you want just by framing it in a good way.”
“But I would have to say my favorite times have been with the team; all the times that we’re working together and really in sync with what’s going on. Where we’re able to understand what each other are saying and combine that to create a very cohesive case. My experience in Debate has definitely been really valuable.”
