Your Guide to the 2023 Student Council Elections
On March 13, ASIJ’s StuCo campaign season kicked off with a bevy of election posters and advertisements distributed throughout the school. As the presidential election draws near, the candidates have been promoting their campaigns, conveying their own distinct perspectives and proposals for how they wish to transform ASIJ.
In March, Hanabi interviewed the presidential candidates — Jake Chon, Shaan Shah, and Brenna James — to gain insight into their unique backgrounds, platforms, and visions. As we delved into their individual experiences, we sought to uncover the strategies and initiatives that would guide each of them in leading the student body to new heights.
Interviews were lightly edited for length and clarity. No one involved in StuCo or running for an elected position this year was involved in writing or editing the features.
